1:30 Report from La Paz

We have hardly had a drop of rain since the 'eye ' passed. But the wind is the most ferocious of the storm. It appears a second 'lobe' of the storm is coming around and things might pick up a bit more.

Here in the Marina we have an incident shaping up that to a good sailor, is the ultimate party foul. Someone left their boat for the summer and left the headsail up. This person deserves the enormous bill they are going to be faced with. The unfortunate part is, it's likely to do damage to adjacent boats when the mast comes down. Additionally, most insurance policies are void if you leave your sails up on an unattended vessel. Take your sails down if your are leaving your boat for more than a few week. Anytime of year.

Hopefully, no one will get injured trying to tame this beast.

I'll post the boat name tomorrow.

Hello from Arizona
We have a couple of charter boats that our crew took from Los Barilles to the marina in La Paz. Any word on road conditions between LB and La Paz? When do you think it would be possible to drive to La Paz? My husband needs to get the guys back up to the boats. Power and water is out in the town and fortunately I am able to contact my husband via our Nextel phone. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Some folks arrived this AM from Los Barilles and said the drive was OK, some small flooding and debris. They arrived here at 9AM, the roads are sure to be improved already.
