HENRIETTE ACHIEVES HURRICANE STATUS TAKES AIM AND CABO SAN LUCAS AND LA PAZ...

04AM MDT 09/04/07 Henriette has achieved Category 1 Hurricane status as it takes aim at Cabo San Lucas, preparing to cut a swath across Baja California Sur. Hurricane Henriette is currently located near 21.4N 109.1W about 151 miles southeast by south of Cabo San Lucas. Movement is 330° at 07kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 978Mb and winds are 65kts with gusts to 80kts.Hurricane fore winds extend out 20 miles and Tropical Storm force winds extend out 120 miles. The current forecast calls for Henriette to make landfall directly on Cabo San Lucas and move directly north passing through La Paz and into the Sea of Cortez.

AT 3AM MDT 09/04/07 THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS EXTENDED THE HURRICANE WARNING FOR THE SOUTHERN BAJA PENINSULA FROM LORETO SOUTHWARD ON THE EAST COAST... AND FROM BAHIA MAGDALENA SOUTHWARD ON THE WEST COAST...INCLUDING CABO SAN LUCAS.

AT 3AM MDT THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS ISSUED A TROPICAL STORM WARNING FOR THE SOUTHERN BAJA PENINSULA FROM BAHIA MAGDALENA NORTHWARD TO PUERTO SAN ANDRESITO ON THE WEST COAST. A HURRICANE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM BAHIA MAGDALENA NORTHWARD TO PUERTO SAN ANDRESITO.


AT 3AM MDT THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS ISSUED A HURRICANE WATCH FOR THE BAJA PENINSULA FROM LORETO NORTHWARD TO MULEGE ON THE EAST COAST.

AT 3AM MDT THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS ISSUED A HURRICANE WATCH FOR THE COAST OF MAINLAND MEXICO FROM ALTATA NORTHWARD TO GUAYMAS.


A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS. PREPARATIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY SHOULD BE RUSHED TO COMPLETION.

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

A HURRICANE WATCH MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...GENERALLY WITHIN 36 HOURS.
