Strong Winds to Continue in the Sea of Cortez and Baja California

   Weather  in Baja California

Surface Chart / Satellite IR

09AM MDT 10/23/07 Tropical Depression Kiko (magenta arrow) is now about 360 miles SW of Cabo San Lucas and moving west. Kiko is expected to degenerate into a tropical Low later today. Winds will continue today shifting to the NE to 25kts in the Sea of Cortez. Winds may slack tomorrow. The winds in Baja Sur could continue and even intensify again Thursday. Looking at the animated surface chart forecast a strong High to develop over the mainland and a weak low will develop off the central pacific coast of Baja. This could generate very strong winds from the east to north-northeast with a 20Mb pressure difference by Thursday.
