Intercity Bus service
SrGalahad Time's coming for the annual trip to Baja but this year one of the kids has tossed in a wrinkle. They know someone who's going to let us use their house in La Paz for a week before our regular week in Cabo. Since we won't need a car in LAP I need to find alternative, reliable transportation to/from San Jose airport to LAP (late Nov/early Dec) for 4 adults and one 18-month-old kid (and we do have a budget). We have considered trying to track down a one-way car rental, but ... so the next thought was "what about the bus?". I know it's not Greyhound so I'm not surprised they don't have a website yet. Can anyone post or email me info about the how/where/howmuch or at least a good source to find this info? I'll admit my Spanish isn't as good as it should be... I can be polite and order food and.. well, you know - but I'm not sure I'm up to getting technical info directly. Rob dehcho2@yahoo.com

The bus from Cabo to La Paz is an easdy alternative between the two cities. You have a choice of going from San Jose del Cabo up the eastern route, or from Cabo via Todos Santos on the Western (Pacific) side. We generally use Aguila. The terminal in La Paz is right on the Malecon. It's less accessible from San from Cabo and San Jose but still just a short taxi from wherever you might be staying in those places. You can also flag down the northbound bus on the highway (Route 1) outside of the SJD airport, but it's a bit of a walk from the terminal. I forget the fares, but it's certainly the cheaper alternative..
Heres the La Paz city council's page i gave you the direct link to the transportation page, on the left hand side you can see all alternatives. http://www.vivalapaz.com/transportation/ground.html
There is also another bus wich goes between La Paz and Cabo, wich is very nice, with stewardess service sort of like on an airplane:Peninsula Ejecutivo, Phone number:(612)1067104
