Baja California Weather - Hurricane Ivo Heads for Baja California Sur

09AM MDT 09/20/07  Hurricane Ivo (red arrow) has begun turning to the NNW and maintained intensity through the night. Ivo is expected to continue to strengthen through Friday night. A Low (blue arrow) moving south along the California coast will help to turn Ivo more to the NE over the weekend. Landfall of Ivo is expected somewhere along the SW Pacific coast of Baja. Ivo is currently forecast to be a tropical storm when arriving in Baja California Sur. The is one additional tropical wave on our map and some thunderstorms south of the Tehuantepec that we will have to watch later this weekend as well. Baja Sur will have increasing clouds in the SW areas while the rest of the Baja peninsula will have clear skies and seasonal temps.
