06PM MDT 09/16/07  The Dia de la Independencia (Sept 16) weekend is wrapping up. Lots of fiestas around Mexico and a grand celebration here in La Paz last night. Baja will enjoy mostly clear skies top to bottom today but there are a few thunderstorms (green arrow) popping up along the mainland that may drift west over the evening hours. Down south there are two tropical waves (orange arrow) both stimulating broad areas of Low pressure. The western most is showing limited signs of development (yellow arrow) while the eastern more of the two (magenta arrow) has some potential for development as it moves WNW over the next several days.
