Tropical Storm Ivo Fades as it Moves toward Resort areas of Baja California Sur

   Weather  in Baja California

Surface Chart / Satellite IR

09PM MDT 09/21/07 Tropical Storm Ivo (red arrow) is slowly turning toward Baja California Sur and is now about 267 miles SW of Cabo San Lucas. Ivo is expected to make landfall in Baja Sur late Sunday or Early Monday. Ivo has entered cooler waters and will continue to degrade over the next several days. Ivo is expected to be reduced to a depression when it passes through La Paz mid day Monday. Those in Baja Sur should expect periods of rain becoming heavy at times beginning as early as Saturday. Spin-off moisture is already causing cloudiness that thins as you move north that is being circulated by a Low (blue arrow) off the California Coast. There is one additional tropical wave on our map, finding little moisture to stimulate at this time.
